Thermography!

On Thursday, January 19, 2012, we at Crescenterra Health Center are again sponsoring
Picture My Health Thermography, who will be doing breast thermograms at Crescenterra.
Janet Weinhold is Valerie Zambusch's new associate, and will be the technician taking
your scans.

This imaging technique can detect problems with tissue up to 10 years earlier than a
mammogram, thus allowing you to employ natural methods to actually prevent any
development of a more serious nature. Valerie includes your thyroid in the upper body
and breast scan, which is then also read by medical doctors.  You will receive a full color
report in the mail detailing any areas of concern, if present, following your scan.

Please click to look at Valerie's brochure on breast health:

Please call Crescenterra to schedule your appointment.  (651-917-3990) .
                  ~~Hours available on January 19th are from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.~~

The cost of the screening and a complete report (read by MD's) with color reproductions
of your scan is $170.00.  Some insurance policies will cover this procedure, as will some
"Health Savings Accounts".  Be sure to check with your own, if this is an important factor
for you.

About Thermography:
Thermography, or Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) is the most advanced
technology available for early detection of breast disease, including cancer. Heat energy
from abnormal blood vessels is detected by infrared camera, converted to color diagnostic
images and interpreted by a board-certified Medical Doctor.

Please tell your friends about this offer.   If you have any questions, please feel free to
ask. I apologize if you did not want to receive offers or notices of this type.

I look forward to seeing you.

Dr. Mary Rutherford, DC

Here is a great recipe using seasonal foods to support the Lung Yin, as well as warming the Kidney Fire
to ensure harmonious interaction between the Lungs and Kidneys.  If you have a mild cold or dry cough,
you can make this recipe more medicinal by increasing the amount of ginger to 1 ½ tablespoons, and
adding a couple of slices of lemon!

PEAR POACHED IN HONEY WITH CINNAMON AND GINGER:  (serves 2)

Ingredients:

  • 1 firm-bodied pear (for example, Bosc or Asian pear)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 2-inch stick of cinnamon bark
  • Water

Method:  quarter and core the pear.  Leave the skin on.  Place skin-
side down in a stainless steel pot large enough to lay the pear
    pieces side by side.

Drizzle the honey over the pears; add the ginger and cinnamon.  Add
water to cover the pears 2/3rds of the way.  With a medium flame,
bring the pot to a simmer; turn the flame to low and simmer,
uncovered, for 10-15 minutes, or until the pears are tender when
    pierced with a fork.
